I am sure many of you struggle with the question “How do I get rid of those little red bumps on the back of my arms?” I have the answer to your question. First let me start by explaining what those bumps are.
Keratosis Pilaris (KP) is a very common skin condition often referred to as “chicken skin”. KP is so common in fact that it is estimated to affect 50%-80% of adults. KP can be characterized by goose bump like red bumps that appear on the back of your upper arms and occasionally on the back of your thighs. The good news about Keratosis Pilaris is that it is not harmful to you, although it can’t be itchy and cause some people to feel self conscious. KP can worsen over the winter months due to dryness in the air. Unfortunately this skin condition cannot be cured, but there is a new product that can help you manage it.
“Dermadoctor Kp Duty” is a new product that you can buy at Sephora, when used along with the Dermadoctor KP Scrub in can diminish your “chicken skin” in as little as two weeks. Not everyones skin is the same and I have heard it work better from some than others, but most people have noticed a dramatic difference in the bumps on their skin. Although I did think that the bottle was a little small for the amount that you are suggested to use. If you use it as directed it will only last you between 3 weeks to a month depending on how large of area you are treating. I could see that getting a little costly at $36 a bottle of lotion and $44 a bottle of scrub. The questions I guess you have to ask yourself is “Is it really that big of a deal? Does it bother me enough to spend almost 100/month or in?” Since most of the population has it, does anyone really notice it but you? If it is something you really want to treat then you may wanna give this product a try.
One frustrating thing about being a makeup artist in Vancouver is that there isn’t a Sephora here yet, so you will have to order in online until the new Sephora downtown opens up. Thanks for reading guys and I hope you found this helpful! Please feel free to leave your comments.
